5 essential skin-firming tips

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could wake up after a good night’s sleep to find that our skin had recovered all its elasticity and luminosity. But we know that makeup, adverse weather conditions such as cold, humidity, excessive heat and, above all continuous overexposure to the sun, all have a negative effect on our skin. Together with the passage of time, they deteriorate our skin and speed up the aging process.

After a long day, it is essential for our skin to rest, even if we follow a daily cleansing and hydrating routine. But very often this is not enough and our skin needs special attention.

We recommend a routine with 5 essential skin-firming tips:

1.Deep cleansing

We will never tire of repeating this, cleansing your skin is one of the most important and essential tips. If you do not clean your skin well with warm water using a soapy gel twice a day, you will never get the desired results. We believe this to be the best treatment you can give your skin. Ridding your skin of impurities is the first step to achieving fresh and glowing skin.

2.Exfoliate

In line with the foregoing, exfoliation, thanks to its deeper cleansing action, helps skin to benefit from the subsequent nourishing and moisturising treatment.

Depending on your skin type or the daily aggression to which your skin is subjected, we recommend applying an exfoliating treatment at least once a week, always using a product that doesn’t cause a skin reaction and by applying the treatment with gentle, circular movements, always moving upwards. This will enable the subsequent treatment to be absorbed more easily and therefore be more effective.

3.Moisturise

After you have cleansed your skin properly, you need to focus on moisturising. Healthy skin is inevitably well moisturised skin. If you moisturise your skin correctly for your skin type, you will improve your skin tone and firmness.

This is because your skin’s collagen and elastin fibres help to keep your skin firm and toned and wrinkles appear when these fibres, which are normally smooth, begin to intertwine.

If you want to get better results, the bio elements you should use are vitamins C and A, adding Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) and substances that inhibit the synthesis of melanin and tyrosinase.

4.Rest

Without the environmental stress to which skin is exposed in terms of tissue, at night skin can focus on repairing and rejuvenating the cells of the outermost layers of the skin. Using specific moisturising night creams can help to rest and alleviate the skin. This is when your skin is less reactive, with lower cortisol levels and it is more permeable. Treatments will be absorbed more easily and you will rebuild the architecture of the extracellular matrix, restoring firmness.

5.Use face masks

Face masks are another treatment that help to get rid skin of impurities and help rehydrate skin. They usually work via occlusion therapy, forming a water-repellent layer, which prevents water and active ingredients from dissipating or evaporating. This enables them to penetrate the skin more efficiently. This is why face masks provide maximum hydration, since their occlusive power is greater than that of normal creams.

We recommend applying face masks once or twice a week before you go to sleep to restore your skin’s luminosity and firmness.
