Generalised spots on your skin? DSP comes to the rescue

The facial skin suffers from the most changes with the passage of time, because it is more exposed to external factors. The appearance of spots is one of the most common consequences of this exposure. Because of this, it is very important to give care and attention to your skin. Your face is the first thing that people see, therefore it should have a healthy appearance.

Why do spots appear on the skin?

Unsightly spots are a problem that affects men as well as women. There are many things that cause them:

  • Ephelides or freckles.
  • Solar lentigo or age spots.
  • Melasma: Frequently caused by hormonal changes (pregnancy or contraceptives).
  • Melanosis from photosensitivity: originating from medication and even perfume.
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: From scars or acne spots.

What is considered as generalised spots?

Generalised spots cover a large part of the face. Commonly they are known by the name “liver spots”.

The origin or cause of these spots is difficult to identify. It stems from an accumulation of melanin that is due to a change in the melanocytes and the aim is to reduce this accumulation as much as possible.

Sometimes they start as localised spots, but with time, if they are not treated or if there is a change which causes new spots, they spread and merge together until the spots appear unified or as generalised spots.

Some simple rules to treat hyperpigmentation are:

  • Include a solar protection filter in your daily routine.
  • Apply a specific treatment.
  • Be consistent: if not, you won't see a change.

How does MartiDerm treat generalised spots?

At MartiDerm there are three types of easy-to-use products that we mainly recommend for the treatment of generalised spots. Additionally, our extensive DSP depigmentation line consists of 5 very effective products, combining perfectly for a better result.

DSP 50+ DAY CREAM

If you need a daily treatment that has a solar filter, the DSP Day Cream has active ingredients that regulate the synthesis and treat the excess of melanin with a solar protection index of 50+. The active ingredients treat spots effectively and with a depigmentation action.

Characteristics:

1.The ingredients in the DSP 50+ day cream are:

  • Kojic acid: inhibits tyrosinase activity.
  • Ellagic acid: inhibits tyrosinase activity.
  • Salicylic acid: cellular renovator.
  • Vitamin C: antioxidant
  • Lactokine®: regulates melanocyte activity.
  • 50+ solar filter against UVA and UVB.
2.To improve this daily treatment, we recommend that you apply the Photo-Age proteoglycan ampoule prior to the day cream. The Photo-Age ampoule contains the following active ingredients:
  • Proteoglycans: hydrating and firming action.
  • Up to 15% of Vitamin C: antioxidant action.
  • Complete repair and anti-radical properties: repairs the solar damage that is shown through the appearance of spots.

DSP ILLUMINATOR SERUM

The DSP Illuminator Serum is the preventative product of the DSP line. It regulates the synthesis of melanin so that the melanocyte inhibits the tyrosinase action. It prevents the appearance of any type of spots and reduces the appearance of the existing ones.

Characteristics:

1.Its light texture and easy absorption makes it perfect for any skin type: From normal/dry skin to combination/oily skin. It’s non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin.

2.The ingredients are:

  • Genistein: inhibits tyrosinase activity
  • Hexylresorcinol: antioxidant.
  • Phytic acid: inhibits tyrosinase activity and is an antioxidant.
  • Daisy extract (bellis perennis): inhibits tyrosinase activity
3.It can be applied day or night before your routine treatment following these steps: DSP illuminator serum + Photo-Age ampoule + sun protection or DSP 50+ cream.

DSP RENOVATION CREAM

The DSP Renovation Cream is a depigmentation cream with an anti-aging action.

Characteristics:

1.The ingredients are:

  • Genistein: inhibits tyrosinase activity
  • Hexylresorcinol: antioxidant.
  • Phytic acid: inhibits tyrosinase activity and is an antioxidant.
  • 10% AHA: cellular renovation.

The 10% of AHA in this cream helps with cellular renovation and reducing spots, while at the same time continuing to reduce wrinkles and expression lines, enlarged pores and imperfections and also encourage the production of collagen.

The rest of the ingredients are perfect to regulate and improve the synthesis and excess of melanin and therefore the spots.

2.It is recommended to use this cream at night and always before the routine treatment.

3.If you combine the Proteum Serum, with its hydrating, firming and repairing action with the latest proteoglycans it is a perfect partnership for anti-aging.

The summer months are the most appropriate time to do a depigmentation treatment. In your day-to-day life don’t forget to protect your skin against external agents. Protecting and looking after your skin are the two key ingredients to have spot-free and healthy skin.
