Summer is always synonymous with fun, holidays and good memories making it the favourite season for many of us, but at times this is not the same for our skin. For our skin, the long exposure to the sun produces blemishes as well as dehydration which makes summer an aggressive season.
As a consequence, the arrival of autumn is necessary to give some attention to the skin and meet its demands, without forgetting to provide it with regular care to make it appear healthy, looked after and to recover its good appearance.
The return to routine leads to the beginning of autumn, which brings us back to a number of habits which also help to improve the appearance of the skin after the sun exposure and the dry climate which are characteristic of the summer season.
Here are 4 tips for caring for your skin in autumn:
1. Deep cleaning: Facial hygiene is fundamental all the time but more so after summer to recuperate the skin and remove the rest of the salt, sun cream and dirt which has stayed in our skin.
For daily hygiene is it recommended to use products which don’t dry out the skin and remove the rest of the impurities and make-up. The MartiDerm Essentials line has three different types, micellar solution, micellar gel and micellar oil. The only difference is the texture of the products because all three contain the same principle active composition (micellar, prebiotics and extracts of Edelweiss).
For weekly hygiene, you usually do a deeper clean; we recommend using a deep exfoliator and apply it after a face mask. Exfoliating well removes all of the dead skin and makes the skin appear brighter.
2. Hydration: The high summer temperatures dry the skin out therefore it is necessary to apply a good dose of hydration once autumn arrives. Additionally, at this time the drop in temperatures causes people to use the heating, which also dries out the environment. The MartiDerm Alpha-peeling ampules, whose main ingredient is Alpha hydroxy acids, provides your face with the hydration it needs at this time of the year, as well as tightening the skin and making it appear brighter.
3. Sun protection: Apply sun protection to your face. Although the summer has ended, you shouldn’t forget to protect your face from the solar radiation. It is less intense but equally as damaging to the skin and causes premature aging.
4. Diet: In autumn we recommend to incorporate fungi and mushrooms into your diet, they help us to reinforce our immune systems and to confront colder periods. We mustn’t forget fruit and vegetables rich in Vitamin C, such as pumpkin, aubergine or broccoli.
The seasonal changes are critical moments to pay more attention to our skin. Look after and pamper it day after day. See you in the next post!
